Erin and Jon’s wedding was a very special one to me. I have known them both since kindergarten as we grew up in Chatham together. We experienced all of the joys of growing up in a small town together, we each had our awkward years and when Jon finally asked Erin to be his girlfriend our junior year of high school I was ecstatic for them. I had no idea that over a decade later they would be getting married and I would get the distinct honor of photographing it!
Their day was incredibly adorable. They chose the Cannery in Eureka, a new venue which is quite possibly one of my absolute favorites. I loved all of the expose brick, natural wood and the gorgeous bridal suite! Erin thought of absolutely every detail for her big day. From foil stamped invitations to floral robes for her bridesmaids to beautiful greenery covering the entire room. Everything was so gorgeous and perfectly reflected Jon and Erin’s personalities.
Erin was stunning in her sweetheart neckline dress with a simple train and her bridesmaids complimented her perfectly in lavender dresses. Jon and his guys stepped up in dapper navy suits and the neutral florals by Create a Scene added the final touches to their bridal party. Jon was a complete (but predictable) mess when Erin walked down the aisle to him, like the last 20 years had just flashed before his eyes. Their ceremony was beautifully spoken as their officiant told stories of their lifetime relationship. I would be lying if I told you I didn’t get choked up a few times. They sealed it with a kiss and after over 10 years of loving each other they were finally husband and wife!
The rest of evening went so smoothly—Erin and Jon got the celebration started taking photos with their bridal party. We explored the grounds of the Cannery finding so many unique nooks and crannies for their portraits. I loved every minute of spending this time with Erin and Jon—everything was so comfortable and they were so incredibly happy to finally be newlyweds!
They then entered their reception, filled with their closest family and friends. It was an intimate, candlelit reception. Erin and Jon immediately hit the dance floor an got the party started which created a domino affect of people on their feet dancing the night away.
From the moment I arrived to Erin and Jon’s big day to the moment I left it felt like a total blast from the past. I enjoyed every minute of watching their love story play out and it was so special to witness them starting their marriage. Thank you from the very bottom of my heart, Erin and Jon. You two are so special to me and it meant everything to get the honor of capturing your special day. I wish you decades more of blissful marriage!
