Katie & Aaron | Springfield, IL Rainy and Rustic Wedding Photographer

Rainy wedding days can very often be very challenging, but with Katie and Aaron you would never have known it rained if their wasn’t photographic proof! These two handled the weather thrown at them with grace and perfection!

The morning started off so relaxed. Katie was surrounded by her bridesmaids as she got hair and make-up done. Her mom helped her into her beautiful gown, her bridesmaids helped her with final touches and she got to read a sweet letter from Aaron. Katie looked absolutely beautiful and she just seemed so excited to be marrying Aaron, that a little rain wasn’t going to get in her way!

I love shooting weddings at St. Aloysius Church in Springfield, the huge windows on both side let light flood in perfectly and the columns out front create a perfect scene for formal photos! It sets the stage for a perfect Catholic ceremony!

My favorite part of the day was the bridal party’s trip to JP Kelly’s downtown for a toast to celebrate the newlyweds! The rain let up a bit, so I stopped Katie and Aaron outside for some fun downtown shots. Even though the rain picked back up after we left we broke out the umbrellas and Katie and Aaron’s bridal party totally rocked formal photos! They were quick, attentive and just happy to be there, helping Katie and Aaron enjoy every part of their big day. We arrived at the reception soaking wet, but it was totally worth it!

I am honored that we got to be apart of Katie and Aaron’s wedding day. As you scroll through their images I hope you love them as much as I do! Their joy and enormous smiles are contagious! Thank you Katie and Aaron for allowing us to capture all of the memories of your day, you are truly one-of-a-kind!

Aaron is very Irish, so he laughed when I asked if he would mind the flag in the background!

Cheers to the perfect couple!

Aaron and many of his groomsmen are officers, so we stopped by the police memorial for a photo – thanks to Aaron and his guys for their service!

These white trees were starting to bloom this weekend, so I had them stop for a few shots!

Aren’t these ladies gorgeous?!

Loved the touches of Lilac in Katie’s florals!
