Rebecca & Tanner | Palmyra, IL Romantic Country Engagement Session

Oh my goodness, Rebecca and Tanner’s engagement session was one of my favorites so far this year! They hand-picked the best spots in their cute little town of Palmyra and we had an amazing time exploring them. Rebecca had a romantic engagement session in mind and we surpassed it! She wore three gorgeous dresses that added so much color and beauty to the country. We got to roam with the cattle Tanner helps care for every year and even stopped by the property that these two will be building their dream home on this year!

Rebecca and Tanner met in high school however they did not begin dating until later in life after Tanner’s persistent convincing to Rebecca that they would be a perfect match. She always thought they would be better as friends until Tanner had an unfortunate motorcycle accident landing him critical in the hospital. Everything clicked with Rebecca that day as she realized what Tanner meant to her and they have been inseparable ever since! This story? Yes, straight from Nicholas Sparks!

Tanner popped the question to Rebecca a few years later on a trip to Chicago. They were strolling along Navy Pier and as Rebecca took photos of the different sights, Tanner’s dad snuck up with the ring and handed it to Tanner who got down on one knee and proposed. Their mom’s were waiting close by and screamed with excitement as soon as Rebecca said yes! My favorite part about Rebecca’s ring is it is a family heirloom from her grandmother who was gift the same ring by her mother-in-law. The diamond is over 100 years old and is absolutely beautiful!

I cannot wait to be apart of Rebecca and Tanner’s big day. My first email from Rebecca after she got engaged was that I was her dream photographer (oh my goodness, the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me!). It is going to be such an amazing day for them and I am honored to capture it!
