Shana & Weston | Champaign, IL Mulberry & Charcoal Events at the Refinery Winter Wedding Photographer

Shana and Weston were the hands down the best couple I couldn’t have handpicked to end out my 2017 wedding season. Shana is cousins with one of my dearest friends, Kara (also an amazing photog!) and I knew from meeting many of their family and friends that their wedding day was going to be a blast. I met with Shana and Weston during their engagement session at Shana’s parent’s log cabin (click here to see more!) a few months ago and got to check out the property we would be photographing their wedding day at. I was ecstatic to go back for a beautiful day celebrating Shana and Weston!

The morning started out with the usual hustle and bustle of getting ready festivities. I won’t sugar coat as Shana was pretty nervous all morning – as any normal bride usually is! It was so sweet to see all of her bridesmaids surround her with love and encouragement. The weather was an unseasonably 60 degrees (yes the first week of December!) and perfect for outdoor photos! Shana’s beautifully beaded dress fit her perfectly along with her simple veil and her grandmother’s fur added the perfect final touches! The girls wore gorgeous mulberry, long dresses complimented by champagne colored shawls. The floral arrangements from Flora Design Studio LLC contrasted with hints of red roses and greenery. Weston and his groomsmen looked dapper in dark grey suits.

Shana and Weston’s ceremony was so simple and sweet at Milford Christian Church. Shana’s dad walked her down the aisle with possibly not a dry eye from anyone. They exchanged vows, had a unity sand ceremony and became newlyweds with a final kiss!

We ventured back to Shana’s parent’s log cabin for their formal photos. The sunset did not disappoint as we had gorgeous golden hour light to complete the day! Shana and Weston are seriously so adorable together and I enjoyed capturing their love so much!

Finally, we travelled to Champaign for their gorgeous reception at Events at Refinery. The room was decorated from top to bottom with white, gold and mulberry accents. Each table was curated perfect to fit Shana and Weston’s theme and fresh centerpieces graced each table. Nelson’s Catering put on a delicious family style meal and JR LeVora from Epic Entertainment kept the party going all night. Shana and Weston did a fair share of mingling, but I loved seeing them in the middle of the dance floor for the first and last dances of the night. The whole entire day was just absolutely amazing, and I am extremely thankful to have been apart of it! Congratulations to Shana and Weston, truly a perfect couple!
