Shea and Ben waited three years to finally have the wedding of their dreams. After they got engaged in 2019, they had planned their wedding for the spring of 2020, but of course the world shut down and they were forced to reschedule. They still said I do in a private ceremony, but longed for a day they could celebrate with their loved ones. When spring of 2021 came around, another covid surge happened and again they were forced to reschedule. Fast forward to spring of 2022 and finally, the world started to feel right again and Shea and Ben were finally able to have the celebration they always wanted!
Arlington’s was the perfect backdrop for this book loving couple. They absolutely love to read, so the incorporation of books and the retro feel of the venue matched them to a tee. They had an intimate bridal party who all seemed to know Shea and Ben in so many unique and adorable ways. It was a little windy most of the day, but we got some gorgeous spring sunlight to add a little warmth. Shea looked gorgeous in her classic, cap sleeved gown and Ben of course dapper in a grey suit. They shared an adorable first look with each other before taking photos to remember the day. Shea told me that the photos were one of the most important parts to her, so she was a complete trooper despite the wind and I got to capture her and Ben totally smitten with each other.
We headed on to Arlington’s for their intimate ceremony, surrounded by 70 of their closest friends and family, Shea’s dad finally got to walk his daughter down the aisle. Their sweet friend and one of Shea’s maids of honor got to perform a ceremony uniting them in marriage once more. It was so special and they got the loudest cheers as they were announced again as Mr. and Mrs. Gold!
The reception was just as unique. Shea and Ben’s parents and friends told stories and gave beautiful speeches about them and they got to finally share their first dance. They spent most of the night on the dance floor celebrating with their guests and sipping custom cocktails named after their adorable cats, Hannibal and Winnie. It was such a beautiful day filled with so much love and laughter. I loved being a part of it so much and I am so excited to finally share some the images! I truly believe if their marriage survived all of the struggles in took to get to this day, they can definitely make it through anything. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Gold!
