Travis and Alexa are college sweethearts. They met at Western Illinois University their sophomore year and have been together ever since! Travis asked Alexa to marry him in front of a waterfall at Starved Rock State Park in the most picture-perfect setting.
Fast forward to this weekend – the wedding day. Alexa and Travis eagerly spent the morning apart, preparing for the big day. After a full week of chilly undesirable weather, the sun came out and warmed up to a gorgeous 50 degree Saturday. Alexa and her girls spent the morning in the beautiful Willow and Birch Salon, reminiscing about their college days when Alexa and Travis met. Travis prepared over lunch with the guys and few pre-wedding cocktails to calm the nerves.
Alexa’s dress was THE highlight of the whole day. It was a beautiful lace gown complete with detailed sleeves and a plunge v-back. The buttons on the sleeves were the perfect detail to top it off. Her bridesmaids wore burgundy dresses with lace sleeves that complimented her so well! Let me just say, I gushed all day over how gorgeous these dresses were!
I spent time with both sides of the bridal party exploring downtown Springfield and capturing some fun shots before heading to Mt. Pulaski for the ceremony. Both Alexa and Travis appeared to be a little nervous, but their smiles never left their faces as they took in the entire day!
Mt Pulaski Christian Church hosted such an adorable ceremony as Alexa’s dad gave her away and her and Travis said their vows in front of their family and friends.
After the ceremony we traveled to Travis’s family’s farm for fun photos! Their bridal party kept the fun going and made pictures so enjoyable. Even though the sun hid behind the clouds in the afternoon, the rolling hills of their cute little Illinois farm seemed to go on for hundreds of miles and made for the perfect setting! Alex and Travis braved a little chilly wind at the end to finish up some gorgeous portraits! They were total troopers!
At the Artisan’s Building, decorated beautifully by Stephanie and Having a Ball Productions, guests enjoyed a wonderful down home meal and a romantic candle lit reception. Epic Entertainment got the music rolling and Alexa and Travis’s guests packed the dance floor the entire night. These two couldn’t not have asked for a more perfect day and I am honored to have been apart of it!
Florals were on point!
