Andrew and Ashley has a stressful week leading up to their wedding day. Forecasts called for 100% chance of rain all week. While we were hoping the weathermen were wrong, it turned out to be true – it not only rained, it poured. ALL. DAY.
Behold! The most important tale of them all – rain on your wedding day IS good luck! Despite the monsoon, Ashley and Andrew could not have been more calm, cool and collected. Willow and Birch Salon greeted Ashley with a beautiful bouquet of flowers sent by Andrew explaining his excitement to see his bride in just a few short hours.
Ashley’s gorgeous David Tutera gown flowed beautifully to her unique peacock strapped heels (seriously, her shoes were to die for) as she walked up to meet Andrew at the State Capitol for their emotional first look. After getting a few (and maybe the only) quiet moments with each other, their bridal party stepped in to bring the party. The bridesmaids had the most gorgeous peacock blue dresses complimented by the amazing peacock flowers designed by Fifth Street Flower Shop. It was so fun getting to spend the afternoon taking our time with photos and getting everything Ashley and Andrew wanted captured perfectly.
Walking into Poe’s On The Hill, the room lit with jewel tones and draped in elegant peacock feathers and flowers. The ceremony was simple yet emotional as Andrew’s grandfather officiated perfectly. Directly following the dance floor was transformed into a giant party with all of Andrew and Ashley’s friends surrounding them. A huge highlight included the cutting of their unique ombre blue tower of a cake design by Specialty Cakes.
Even though the rain kept everyone indoors, Andrew and Ashley kept smiling and enjoying every minute of their special day. I cannot be more excited to share their images with them!
