It all started in the sand. On a perfect summer night, beneath the lights of the volleyball court, Chase met his beautiful bride-to-be, Emma over a friendly match. I wasn’t there but I am sure Emma impressed Chase with her thrilling spikes and Chase followed with his wise, older man charm (sorry Chase, just one old joke!). The two of them quickly fell in love and Chase popped the big question atop a gorgeous mountain in Colorado, where Emma immediately said yes.
I have known Emma for many years now and have always admired her overwhelmingly adorable way of making everyone around her feel amazing. She is kind-hearted, caring and definitely one of the most genuine people I have ever met. I got to meet Chase for the first time in the sand as well, at their engagement session along the Sangamon River (check it out here!). I never knew if there could be a man to measure up to Emma’s great personality but boy was I wrong. I was extremely humbled by Chase’s way of caring for his beautiful fiance and the way he looked at her with such joy and love. I know, sappy, but totally true. They were undoubtedly, perfect for each other.
The pair decided to tie the knot, ironically enough, in the very spot where it all began- the sand. So they planned, prepared and ultimately got THE most gorgeous weekend filled with family and friends in Treasure Island, Florida.
The morning of the wedding, Emma’s closest girlfriends spent time curling each other’s hair (they are 50% cosmetologists – so it was perfect!) and sharing their best memories. Then Emma put on her dress and spent some sweet moments with her mom and sister followed by a first look with her very proud daddy.
Then, Emma and Chase shared an adorable first look under the trees. They were a dream couple to work with, they make each other laugh and are completely natural around one another! They chose The Sunset Beach House – the perfect setting for a Short ceremony (pun intended!) right by the water and a sand-filled backyard for an intimate reception.
String lights lit their delicious, island-inspired dinner and the tables boasted touches of the midwest including mason jars filled with baby’s breath. It was so apparent throughout the whole day how many people loved and cared for Emma and Chase. Every guest in attendance was so happy for these two and the celebration lasted all night!
Emma and Chase, I am honored to have been apart of such a special time in your life. Thank you for welcoming me and for throwing one heck of a party! I couldn’t be happier for two of the most deserving and positive people! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Short!
