Katie & Kelby | Springfield, IL Lavender and Silver Spring Wedding Photographer

I am not even sure where to start with these two. All I know is their awesome DJ, JR, said it best at the end of the night that Katie and Kelby set the bar high for the year for all other couples and I completely agree!

I knew Kelby back in the day when Glenwood rivaled SHG in football and we thought that was all that mattered in life. He was always rambunctious and honest (sometimes too much haha!) and fun to be around. Nothing has changed these days, except for Katie. Katie is his better half, for sure. She is the most genuine, caring and sweetest person I have ever met. I instantly knew we were going to be friends after our first consultation that lasted over two hours and the last one that broke our record even further. Katie and Kelby are PERFECT for each other in every way, including their love for their adorable puppies (see them featured in their engagement session)!

Katie thought she was getting a Spring wedding and although we have endured non-stop rain lately, she could not have ask for a more beautiful day. Yes, it was cold and everyone froze their butts off, but Katie and Kelby’s bridal party stuck through it and helped make the day so perfect! Plus Hannah from True Colors knocked their Spring arrangements out of the park! Their ceremony was held at the gorgeous Blessed Sacrament Church followed by photos outside in front of the beautiful chapel. Honestly, one of my favorite churches in Springfield!

After formal photos the bridal party arrived at the Northfield for a huge celebration of the newlyweds. Katie and Kelby’s guests made their reception so much fun. They had friends and family travel from all over the country and they definitely came to celebrate! Epic Entertainment started the party off right and the dance floor wasn’t empty all night!

At the end of the day, Ryan and I got to steal Katie and Kelby away from their party for some golden hour shots. We found the perfect little spot behind the Northfield and oh my goodness sunset did not disappoint! Katie and Kelby entertained us by dancing through their photos, laughing and enjoying all of the first moments of being husband and wife! I could not be happier for two more deserving people. I know they will have the best marriage!! Congratulations, Katie and Kelby!
