Kristy & Derek | Wheaton Academy Black & White Backyard Summer Photographer

I loved being a part of Kristy and Derek’s wedding day! These two were so deserving of finally getting to have the beautiful wedding of their dreams. Kristy reached out to me back in 2020 when the world started to shut down that they would have to postpone their June wedding to December. But when December rolled around and we were still under capacity limits, her and Derek decided to have a simple, family only reception to finally become Mr. and Mrs. It was so sweet and so intimate. This summer, Kristy and Derek got to throw a beautiful wedding day in their hometown. They were re-married at the place where they met: Wheaton Academy, just steps away from the football field where Kristy, the cheerleader cheered on Derek, the football player so many Friday nights. The ceremony was so sweet and they really made it fun as Kristy and her dad danced down the aisle to Derek!

After the ceremony, we took their bridal party to a gorgeous park where Kristy and Derek had been scouting out their wedding photo locations for over two years. We had so much fun capturing their wedding party celebrating with them! And finally, we headed to Kristy’s parent’s backyard for their gorgeous reception under the lights. They threw one heck of a party with yummy food and tons of dancing. I just loved every part of watching Mr. and Mrs. Enger finally get the day they deserved and celebrating with all of their friends and family. Congratulations Kristy and Derek, I am so honored to have been a part of it and I cannot wait any longer to share some photos!
