Rachel & Jared | Springfield, IL Burgundy & Gold Spring Wedding Photographer

Rain came down sideways the morning of Rachel and Jared’s wedding day. Rachel was putting her final touches on as we watched it pour, but she kept so calm and had so much faith. Later, I found out that Jared’s grandmother told them she would send a rainbow to them on their wedding day and I think Rachel just knew you couldn’t have one without rain.

Rachel and Jared are so adorable together, their big day was filled with so much love and even more laughs. They didn’t want to see each other prior to the ceremony, but they met around a corner to read letters to each other. It was such an emotional and sweet moment. When Jared finally got to see Rachel coming down the aisle at Blessed Sacrament he smiled from ear to ear and so did Rachel! They had a beautiful mass and officially became Mr. and Mrs. Brown in front of their family and friends. As soon as their ceremony finished up, the clouds dried up and the sun came out! Everyone gathered outside the church to send them off with cheers!

We spent the rest of the afternoon traveling around downtown Springfield capturing Rachel and Jared along with their bridal party. We got so lucky with a nice break in the rain to capture all of their portraits. Jared and Rachel kept each other laughing and just enjoyed every minute of being together on their big day. We made a stop at the bar where is all started, Celtic Mist downtown. Rachel and Jared met there during State FFA convention so it was fitting for the bridal party to celebrate with a shot for the newlyweds!

Finally, we headed out to Petersburg for their reception at Roots. As we arrived, a rainbow glistened over the sky as if Jared’s grandmother sent it just for them! Rachel’s family worked so hard to decorate and put together such a beautiful space for her and Jared. It was so obvious how very loved these two were by how many loved ones were helping run everything smoothly. They hosted a great meal and packed the dance floor all night in celebration of Mr. and Mrs. Brown. I am so thankful I got to be a part of Rachel and Jared’s big day and I am so excited to share my favorite images! Congratulations you two!
