I was so excited for the wedding of Sarah and Todd as they are perfect for each other! The fact that I have known Sarah since we were in high school made the day just that little extra special. Sarah is so easy-going, fun to be around, and beautiful, which pretty much sums up her wedding day. It was a day full of love and laughter and there was never any doubt that everyone was going to have a great time.
I have met Todd a few times running into each other randomly and I thought he was such a nice guy. But it wasn’t until their engagement session earlier this year that I really realized how perfect he was for Sarah! Check out their adorable engagement session here. Todd adores Sarah, makes her laugh, and best of all is so kind-hearted. Sarah and Todd are close to their families so everyone was involved in the wedding party including their niece and nephew who were the cutest ring bearer and flower girl.
Todd and Sarah had a really special first look at St. Aloysius Catholic Church where they also read letters they had written to each other before a very traditional ceremony.
The pair were smiles all day long. Sarah looked stunning in her long white-laced dress and white fur wrap, which contrasted with her long dark locks and deep red rose bouquet.
I had sat down with Sarah just days before the big day as we worked on the final details and we were both hoping for a dusting of snow. Well, we got our wish because we had the perfect dusting the night before. This made for the most stunning scenery at Lincoln Park with the snow covered bridge and evergreen trees. We truly were blessed with a winter wonderland. I loved taking Sarah and Todd’s portraits after the ceremony at Lincoln Park. They were enjoying being newlyweds and taking in the alone time snuggling close to keep warm. They were both so happy and excited to be celebrating their marriage.
The bridal party wore navy and burgundy and were absolute troopers despite the below zero temperatures! In contrast to the icy conditions outside the reception was intimate, warmly lit, and romantic with a winter ambiance. There were some really great speeches from both Todd and Sarah’s best friends. Laughter filled the room. Much to Todd’s surprise, Sarah had arranged for a birthday cake and the whole party sang happy birthday to him. His special day certainly wasn’t forgotten amongst the nuptials and romance of the occasion.
I had so much fun photographing my sweet friend and her husband! Sarah and Todd are so laid back that you can’t help but have a good time when you’re around them. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!
