Stephanie & Chris | Springfield, IL Teal & Sunflower Spring Wedding Photographer

Stephanie and Chris are one of the sweetest couples! They met when Stephanie’s mom hired Chris to work at her daycare, where Stephanie also worked. They fell in love very quickly and got engaged about two years later.

The pair were married at Chatham Baptist Church; the church Stephanie grew up in. Stephanie and Chris are adorable together. I just love how kind and considerate they are of one another. Stephanie is very simple in style and her wedding reflected this. She wore an all lace gown with chucks underneath. Stephanie loves sunflowers and although they aren’t traditional in the spring, she did an amazing job of mixing them with spring flowers. I have known Stephanie’s family for a few years now as Stephanie’s cousin, Lyndsie, is one of my very best friends. The whole day felt like hanging out with family and I loved that so much.

There was a threat of rain, but it never hit us, and we got some gorgeous photos after the wedding in an open field. Stephanie and Chris wanted a country theme for their big day, so the locations were perfect. Their bridal party was a lot of fun and kept Stephanie and Chris laughing all day. Their sweet dog, licorice, joined for a few photos with them.

Their reception was very laid back with such a warm and comfortable atmosphere. Stephanie and Chris had decorated each table at the wedding reception with photos of them each as babies and pretty sunflower lanterns too. I loved this idea. During Chris and Stephanie’s first dance Chris convinced Stephanie to let him spin her even though she is very shy! This made for some great photos. Stephanie’s dad gave a very heartfelt speech to the song Stephanie’s parents used to play for her at bedtime when she was younger. He spoke of how happy he was for his little girl and that he was proud of her relationship with Chris, her family, and God.

We hit golden hour perfectly in a field full of yellow wildflowers; it went beautifully with Stephanie’s sunflowers! Afterward their friends and family filled the dance floor all night to celebrate Stephanie and Chris.

I had so much fun working with Stephanie and Chris, spending time with their families, the wedding party and photographing their true love. These two were meant for each other and I am so happy to share with you their happily ever after!
