I have known Taylor since high school and she has always been a sweet, bubbly, blonde who befriends everyone. That hasn’t changed one bit and when she and Cameron started dating, I constantly running into them several times at weddings, events, and the occasional Target run. We have had so many conversations about their wedding and their plans for the future and I have loved watching their little family thrive.
Cameron and I had a conversation a few days before the wedding that just made me gush with excitement for their big day. He said, “it is just so crazy how we see you at all these weddings and have watched you work with other couples before, but now, it’s our turn.” Eek—it means the world to me to connect and become friends with my couples and Taylor and Cameron are no exception. I was ecstatic to shoot their wedding and even more excited at how excited they were!
The wedding ceremony and reception took place at the Landing Barn in Taylorville, a new venue, so I was really looking forward to photographing it. With less than 150 guests, it was a very intimate setting for their special day.
Taylor and Cameron did not have a bridal party, so the focus was on them, which was perfect. Their son, Wyatt, was, however, their ring bearer and he was accompanied by four beautiful little flower girls, which made for adorable photos.
Taylor had thought of every last detail. One of my favorite parts of the day was photographing all of her bridal details because they were absolutely stunning. Taylor’s dress was light ivory with a hint of light pink. The dress fit her perfectly and she looked just like a princess! Taylor’s waterfall bouquet was absolutely stunning by Petals & Co and Cameron’s custom suit was just the right fit for his groom’s look. I loved capturing the moments with him helping his son Wyatt dress for the day!
Unfortunately, the heavens opened up and it poured with rain all day, so we started with photos indoors. Both Taylor and Cameron cried when they saw each other at their first look; the two of them are so in love with one another. They also read letters to each other right after, crying some more. Taylor’s dad walked her down the aisle to Cameron and they got married in front of their closest family and friends. Cameron’s sister performed the simple ceremony.
Afterward, we braved the steady rain and finally got them outside for some photos; under the umbrellas. When the rain stopped we got the perfect window to include the kiddos in some photos as well! The Landing Barn grounds had some really beautiful locations. The ground was soaking wet, but Taylor and Cameron embraced every second of it – after all rain is good luck on your wedding day!
Taylor and Cameron entered their reception with the room covered in beautiful flowers and candlelight. They had a sweet tea bar to express their love for the south and their favors were the perfect gift representing both of them. A shot of Jack Daniels from Cameron and a jar of homemade peanut butter pie for Taylor, which was made specially by Cameron’s mom.
They had a perfect first dance to “Beautiful, Crazy” by Luke Combs. Then Taylor danced with her dad and Cameron shared an emotional dance with his mom. There were so many sweet moments throughout including Wyatt’s perfectly unrehearsed pre-dinner blessing. He later shared his adorable dance moves keeping the party going all night.
I loved so many aspects of Taylor and Cameron’s wedding day, but I think my favorite was seeing them finally get their perfect day, celebrating their love for each other, and sharing it with their closest family and friends! I am honored to have been apart of it!
