Valerie and Jake met on a blind date after matching on a dating app, but little did they know how much they would have in common or how quickly they would fall for each other! I think it was easy for both of them to say now that after their first date, they knew it was going to be forever. Jake proposed to Valerie downtown Springfield during an ice cream date and she had no problem saying yes!

I met Valerie and Jake for their engagement session at Valerie’s grandmother’s house in Kincaid. One of the coolest things that these two have in common is that Jake grew up in the very same town that Valerie’s grandparents have raised their own children in and her grandmother still owns that farm today! I loved meeting Valerie’s grandmother, who showed me some of her wedding photos and then showed me all of the best photo spots on her property. We all had so much fun capturing Valerie and Jake just being themselves and loving each other. Valerie is a hairstylist, so of course she is #hairgoals and she and Jake did a great job at picking out their outfits. It was a little warm and at first overcast, but the sun finally peaked out towards the end and we really got some beautiful light!

Valerie and Jake are so cute together. They really did a great job at making each other laugh and you can tell they just enjoy being with each other. I am so excited to be on this journey with them and cannot wait for their wedding next summer!
