Alison & Sam | Summer Garden Party Springfield, IL Summer Wedding Photographer

Alison and Sam were such a fun couple to work with! I have known Alison since elementary school and I am so excited to see her so happy! Sam is such a down-to-earth person. He made the whole day so fun by keeping Alison smiling and calm–even though the skies decided to downpour on as we were all trying to get to the ceremony. Alison was absolutely stunning in her dress and she had two very sweet first looks to share! First, with her dad which I knew was going to be emotional because of how close Alison is with him. It was so sweet to capture him seeing his daughter in her wedding dress! Then, she went out behind her parents’ home on Lake Springfield to meet Sam. He of course kept his emotions in check with humor, but it was so cute because he could not take his eyes off of her! We snuck in some really fun portrait time with their bridal party just before the clouds opened up and began pouring rain.

Luckily, they had already switch their ceremony inside of the ballroom at the beautiful Abraham Lincoln Hotel. Alison’s sweet dog, Maci, was her flower girl and her dad tried to hold back more tears as he walked Alison down the aisle to give her away to Sam. Their college friend married them in the cutest ceremony filled with laughs and a few tears as they spoke their vows. They sealed it with a kiss and officially became Mr. and Mrs. Umbanhowar!

Afterwards, the sun came out so beautifully, so we took full advantage and headed out to downtown Springfield for some more portraits. This was such a fun time because the rain really cooled things off and they got to spend some time celebrating with their bridal party before heading back to the reception. Alison and her mom worked so hard to decorate their reception. It was covered in gorgeous flowers and gold accents. Alison and Sam really threw a great party and the dance floor was packed all night! I was so honored to be a part of Mr. and Mrs. Umbanhowar’s special day and I am so excited to share just a fraction of their images here!
