Samantha & Cory | Carrollton, IL Family Farm Engagement Photographer

I met Sam and Cory for the first time over Facetime in the Spring. I just knew they were going to be a fun couple after the first five minutes. I got to meet them before their engagement session when Cory was a groomsman in another wedding I had the pleasure of working on. It was so great to get to know them a little that day and it made me even more excited for their engagement session!

Cory’s family farms several acres of land in Carrollton, IL, so they knew right away they wanted a Fall session right before harvest when the beans were turning yellow. The day was very overcast, the sun wasn’t budging one bit, until about 10 minutes before we were to start their session–it popped out perfectly! I also spotted a really cool barn across from their property which made for another amazing backdrop! Cory kept Sam laughing the entire session and she was a total natural in front of the camera. Sam is a nurse, which makes her a very nurturing person and it shows in photos how much she cars for Cory. The last stop was another part of Cory’s family farm where Cory got his wish of adding a semi into photos. Believe it or not it ended up being a really fun prop to use!

My favorite part about Sam and Cory, which I just had to save for last is the fact that even though they didn’t start dating until they were in their 20s, they actually met, many years prior, when they were the flower girl and ring bearer in a wedding! Now seriously, how sweet is that? It is like fate brought them together and now they are going to be husband and wife soon! I cannot wait for their big day next Fall!
