Why choose a photo and video team? Well the answer is simple—a seamless experience. Lydia and I have worked together on several weddings over the past two years. She has grown so much as a wedding videographer and it has truly been amazing to watch her shine. We were capturing so many wedding days together, making separate timelines, communicating separately with the bride when we finally realized—we (including our brides) were all doing twice the work for one common goal! Now, when we team up for wedding days we have created a unique experience allowing us to serve our couples together, more efficiently and with so much more style! In 2019, I shot my first four weddings. Before you’re like WHOA WHOA WHOA pump the breaks. YOU’RE SAYING YOU HAVE ONLY SHOT A HANDFUL OF WEDDINGS AND I SHOULD TRUST YOU TO SHOOT ONE OF THE BIGGEST DAYS OF MY LIFE?!
Yes. That’s what I’m saying. These weddings weren’t my first rodeo, though. For five years now, I’ve been full out eat-sleep-breathing filmmaking. I’ve created literally hundreds of other non-wedding videos, that you’re welcome to creep on my Vimeo channel.
Now I hear you saying “ooookay, so you know how to work a camera, but weddings are a different ball game.” And you’re right. I agree. But I have been SO lucky to have been trusted to regularly work for many of our area’s most talented, award-winning wedding photographers, so I learned the wedding ropes from some of the best in the industry and they are ultimately the ones who talked me up and encouraged me to take the leap and offer wedding videos.
I SWORE I wasn’t going to love weddings. I made excuses about bridezillas and giving up Saturdays and blah blah blah. And then I shot my first wedding and was like OH CRAP I ACTUALLY LOVE THIS. And here we are.
Once, I was on my couch, editing on my laptop, and my son asked me “what? What are you smiling about?” And I said “oh, I’m working. I guess I just smile when I edit.” And that’s how I knew I was 100% doing the right thing with my life.
Outside of work, my family and my dogs are what make me happiest. I’m a wife and a mother and a dog mom to Wuppy, Potato and Jack—all adopted from the APL and the highlights of my whole life. My whole family is absolutely enamored with these dogs, so most of our time spent together revolves around them.
My favorite thing to do when I’m not working is to spend time with my family and our puppies. We love to get outside and hike or kayak, but truly, I’m just as happy outside doing yard work with them as I am going on an adventure. I am so thankful that wedding videography has given me a flexible schedule and love that my kids get to grow up seeing their mama work a fulfilling job, doing what she loves.

"I had originally decided I wasn’t going to have a videographer for my wedding. Then a friend suggested I at least have a guest film at least our vows just so we had them to watch later. The same day I was on Amazon shopping for a video camera, I got a text from Kate telling me about a friend she had that was trying to get into the wedding film business and she thought our wedding would be a perfect start for her.
