Carly and Nicholas are two sweet people who are adorably cute together!  They met back in college online and soon found out they were just up the street from each other! They became friends first, really getting to know each other and taking their time. Over the summer before Carly second year at school, Nicholas made he drive up to Wisconsin to spending more time with Carly, and when she returned for her second year, they finally decided to give it a try and fell in love! Nick proposed four years later when they returned to one of their favorite overnight trips in Makanda, IL. He led Carly to believe all weekend that there was no way that he was going to propose there even though she thought it would be the perfect spot. Nicholas’s parents were there to tape the entire proposal as their son asked his best friend to marry him! SO sweet!

Fast forward to their engagement session – we had the perfect weather – a snowfall of about 6-7 inches the weekend prior and a clear sunny Monday afternoon that followed. With a fresh, snow covered ground we trekked around Allerton Park in Moticello to capture some adorable photos of Carly and Nicholas. I really enjoyed getting to know these two and their relationship. They are both so personable, smart and witty – and they cuddled up so sweetly for their photos! They have three precious cats at home who are like their children, so Carly brought along the cutest coffee mugs to include them a little bit!

It was so fun capturing Carly and Nicholas in the winter wonderland we were lucky to have! I am so excited to be apart of their special day next winter!
