Michelle & Charles | Poe’s On The Hill Springfield, IL Spring Wedding Photographer

I had been looking forward to Michelle and Charles’s wedding day for quite some time now. I met them about 5 years ago when Charles’s aunt hired me to photograph their extended family one Thanksgiving. The entire family was so welcoming and I really enjoyed getting to know them all! I even remember that day, everyone asking Charles when he was going to propose At the end of 2019 he finally did and I was more than excited when they asked me to capture their big day! Michelle and Charles had all of their plans set for a perfect summer 2020 wedding. Unfortunately, covid had other plans and since both of them come from pretty large families, the best option for them was to postpone a little longer to spring of 2021. Well, God delivered the most beautiful March day for them and the entire day was even more perfect than I think anyone could dream of!

Michelle got to spend the morning getting ready with her girls in the beautiful Lincoln’s Loft in Lincoln while Charles and the guys hung out downstairs getting ready. She had so many beautiful details to capture which I absolutely loved! Then, we traveled to the park for their first look which was so sweet. You could tell they were both a little nervous but that all melted away the second they saw each other! Michelle was absolutely stunning and such a classic bride. I loved hanging out with them and their bridal party a bit before heading to the church to make it official!

A lot of Michelle’s family has been married in St. John’s UCC, so it meant so much to them both to also say “I do” on the same alter. Their ceremony was so sweet and personal to them and the smiles never left their faces as they finally got to share their first kiss as husband and wife! Then, waiting for them outside of the church was the coolest Model T car, which belonged to Michelle’s late grandfather that her dad spent the last few months working on. Their send off was so meaningful and sweet!

We then headed out to Mr. and Mrs. Mayfield’s home to capture them in their pasture! It is also such a meaningful spot for them and one they will always be able to look out on and remember taking their wedding day photos in!

Finally, we headed to Poe’s On the Hill for their beautiful reception. Charles’s family owns this gorgeous venue and they did an amazing job decorating it to reflect their style! From farmhouse tables, to stunning tablescapes, to beautiful uplighting, it was truly one-of-a-kind! The reception was filled with personal touches for Michelle and Charles including a custard bar from their favorite place–Culver’s! They spent the entire evening celebrating and dancing with all of their closest friends and family and enjoying their first night as Mr. and Mrs. Mayfield! I could not be happier for these two that their day finally came, after all of the planning and re-planning they took on with such grace it truly was the perfect day! I am so excited to share images from their beautiful wedding! Congratulations Michelle and Charles!
