I got the enormous honor of photographing Sam and Dylan’s engagement back in the Summer when Dylan’s mom reached out to me and asked me if I would hide in the bushes at Washington Park to capture it. I think my heart was racing as fast as Dylan’s was because I wanted so badly for Sam to have great pictures of her engagement. I am sharing some of that amazing day near the end of this blog post! This was also the same day I met Sam and Dylan even though it felt like I had known them for year. Sam is really into photography and loves to take photos of her handsome Llewellin Setter, Merlin (also featured in their engagement session) so I was so excited when she asked me to photograph their wedding as well!

Dylan met Sam in what Sam describes “A tale as old as time, a hometown boy and girl new to the area both looking for love swipe right on each other.” 😂🤣 I just love their sense of humor! Dylan quickly set up a first date and they have been dating ever since!

Working with Sam and Dylan has been a breeze and when they asked me to travel to Jim Edgar State Park for their engagement session there was no question! I loved seeing the park in the Fall and experiencing a gorgeous sunset over the rolling hills. It was like a dream and I told Sam and Dylan several times I didn’t even feel like I was in Illinois anymore! Sam did an amazing job picking out their outfits. Despite some crazy wind, I truly had an amazing time capturing these two love birds. Mr. Merlin also did a fabulous modeling job. I cannot wait to share their day with them next Fall, I just know it is going to be so perfect!
